The Barwell Mystery

Can you solve the Barwell Mystery?

We know the Barwell was "on the Lisbon Run" with her then Captain John Toole (in other online places his surname is Poole) and that in 1811 he "ran away with it".

From this time on it seems that there is no further reference of the Barwell.

1. Did it get captured by the French or Americans?

2. Was it attacked by Pirates?

3. Did John Poole change the name of the sloop and become a smuggler?

4. Or did the Barwell simply sink in stormy weather on it's last run?

I'd love to know the answer to this 200 year plus mystery. I'm doing my best to solve it, but "all hands on deck" are needed to make solving the mystery more of a possibility.
